Walk to School Day is October 1st, 2025!

Walk to School Day is a chance for us to promote healthy habits, foster family and community support, and bring attention to the safety concerns of neighborhoods so that children have safe routes to school.

In 2024, over 40 schools took part, and over 10,000 students, parents, and community members participated in a community walk to jumpstart our student's day! We are so excited to see so many more of you back this year! This year, we're encouraging community members and elected officials to join a walk or cheer on students along a route in their own neighborhood.

Find a participating school in your neighborhood with this map:

Are you participating and not on our map? Email us to let us know!

Schools that signed up for Walk to School Day in advance received the following from Walk Bike Nashville free of cost:

  • A personalized walking banner for schools that do not already have one
  • "I Walked To School Today" stickers for student participants
  • Event manual with tips and best practices
  • Support with event organization questions
  • T-shirts for the administrators of the event

We’re excited to celebrate your success! Are you a participating school? After your event, please remember to send us your photos and complete the post-event survey sent via email. This helps us improve and better support future events. And don't forget to tag us on social media using @walkbikenash!

By sharing these details, you'll have the chance to be featured on our social media and inspire others in our community! We’re thrilled to celebrate the Walk to School Day with you and your students!

Thank you for being a part of this tradition.
