Hi there! I am Jessica Burton, and I am the newest member of the Walk Bike Nashville team. I am the Education Coordinator overseeing all of our Adult Education programs through Walk Bike University.
I am originally from Greenville, South Carolina and came to Nashville for graduate school in 2013. Prior to graduate school, I taught high school math in a rural town in Arkansas. Following graduate school, I worked as a guide with a company called Trek Travel, leading cycling tours in California, France, Portugal and Spain. Nashville has always remained close to my heart, so in looking for a more permanent spot after guiding, the city was the obvious place to land.
I am so excited to be working for Walk Bike Nashville, as the Education Coordinator position is a perfect blend of my passions and past experiences! I’ve always admired the work that WBN does in the city, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team. I love getting to teach people new things, and I enjoy being outside and being active. This role will allow me to share those passions with others!
Our programs provide instruction on various topics ranging from pedestrian and bicycle safety, to bicycle maintenance and how to ride a bike for the first time. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many places and explore new environments through walking and biking. I am so excited to work alongside the Nashville community to promote the world of walking and biking for a more active, healthy and livable community!
