The Tour de Nash provides a friendly opportunity to explore the city’s bikeways, neighborhoods, and greenways with other cyclists in Nashville. We have a route for all experience levels and riding styles: Kids Tour (1 mi, car-free), Family Friendly City Tour (9-mi, protected bike lanes, greenways, and calm neighborhood streets), Local Tour (25-mi), or Grand Tour (45-mi). All routes include rest stops with water, snacks, bathroom facilities and basic bicycle maintenance equipment.

For the first time ever, Tour de Nash will feature a .5 mile Open Streets aspect at the start/finish. The public is invited to enjoy 51st Ave in the Nations as a park space for the day and cheer on the riders! Claim your Tour de Nash Basecamp spot to hang with your cycling friends after the ride, and friends and family can enjoy the space while you're out on the route! Learn more about how to make the most of the Open Street in our blog post here.

Registration is open until Friday, May 17th. Save on registration costs by signing up before May 12! And save even more by becoming a Walk Bike Nashville member for as little as $4 per month. Get a free registration by signing up to volunteer!

Tour Trainers

Thanks to The Domestiques Cycling Club, we are offering Tour Trainers rides again this year. These rides are designed to help you build up your distance and comfortability to ride in the Local Tour (25-mile) or Grand Tour (45-mile) ride. Rides begin April 13th and will happen weekly leading up to the Tour de Nash. Once you register, a Domestiques Cycling Club member will contact you the Friday before the ride to give you the ride start location and time information.

Frequently Asked Questions

REGISTRATION QUESTIONS:

Where do I register for Walk Bike Nashville's Tour de Nash?

What if I don't see the ticket option I am looking for?

When you click on the registration link and see the ticket options, scroll down to view all ticket types.

What is included with my ticket?

This is Walk Bike Nashville's biggest fundraiser of the year and your ticket helps support our work to make Nashville more walkable, bikeable, and livable for all. Registered riders enjoy a marked route, signage, and cue sheet to help you navigate the route on the event day. You will also receive a rider packet that includes your ride number, t-shirt, and sponsorship materials. Lastly, there will be rest stops along the way with food, water, and bike mechanic equipment.

Where will I pick up my ride packet?

We'll have multiple times for you to pick up your Tour de Nash packet at the Walk Bike Nashville office (1 S 7th St, Nashville, TN 37206) the week before the Tour:

     Wednesday, May 15th, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

     Thursday, May 16th, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

     Friday, May 17th, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

When you arrive, enter the alley behind The Turnip Truck from S 7th Street. If you are in a car, please stay in your car -- pickup will be a drive-through so you won’t need to park.

You may pick up packets for friends and family. If you are picking up packets for additional riders, please be ready to tell us their name, t-shirt size, and which route they are riding.

What if I'm coming from out-of-town and I can't make your packet pick-up times?

We ask that if you have a friend also riding in the TDN or know someone that lives in town, then please have them pick up your packet for you. However, if there is no way for you to get your packet or have a friend pick it up, please contact Aaron Wimsatt at [email protected] and we will help you work something out.

How do I order a 2024 Tour de Nash jersey?

You can order from the online store here. You can also order Walk Bike Nashville T-shirts online. Check out our online store!

I am unable to pay the registration fee, are scholarships available?

As Walk Bike Nashville's largest fundraiser, registration fees are currently charged for all route options to cover our event expenses and raise money for the important work we do. There is a $20 T-shirt-only option. And if you're unable to pay the registration fee to ride, we ask that you use the donation option to pay what you can, but all event details are posted publicly including the routes. Rider packets and event T-shirts are reserved for registered riders. We are also excited to add Open Streets to this year's event. The half-mile Open Street is free and open to all to walk, ride, and enjoy from 7am to 2pm.

ROUTE QUESTIONS:

Where does the ride start and end?

All routes will start on 51st Avenue at Illinois Avenue in the Nations.

What are the routes this year?

Ride With GPS:

Google Map:

  • All routes are outlined here. The 9-mile is outlined in green, 25 in blue, and 45 in red.

I'm a beginner rider, which route is right for me?

The 9-Mile Route is great for beginners and families. It is made up of calm neighborhood streets, protected bike lanes, and a greenway. It is relatively flat, with the exception of one major hill... dismounting your bike and walking it up the hill is a great option!

For very young bike riders, the 1-Mile Kids Tour is a perfect option. This is a straight, flat ride up and down 51st Ave while it's completely closed to cars.

Will there be rest stops along the route?

Yes, rest stops will be along the routes every 10-15 miles to provide refreshments, snacks, volunteers to help answer questions, and basic bicycle maintenance equipment. The 9-mile route features a rest stop near the mid-way point.

Will there be water?

Water refills will be provided at all rest stops, but come with at least two bottles for yourself.

Will there be restrooms at the rest stops?

Portable/domestic restrooms will be available at MOST rest stops.

Will there be route security?

Yes, security officers will be positioned at some intersections along the routes. You must still follow all rules of the road and behave as a vehicle in accordance with the law. You can watch this video to refresh yourself on some Bicycling Basics. Also, be sure to check our Events Calendar for upcoming rides and classes before the Tour or join the Tour Trainers for some training rides before the TDN!

Are the roads closed to cars?

With the exception of the Kid's Tour route, the Tour de Nash routes will not close the roads to cars. While we try to utilize low-stress biking roads, expect to see cars along your ride. However, the event footprint on 51st Avenue North from Georgia Avenue to Louisianna Avenue will be closed to cars for our kick-off and Open Streets event from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.! The 1-mile Kid’s Tour will take place on the closed area of 51st.

How do I navigate the route?

Markings for the route will mostly be on the ground, with some signs. We also recommend using a cue sheet or downloading the GPS file from our website.

We will use these on-street markings to help you navigate the route:

What do I do if I get lost, I need assistance, or I'm unable to complete the ride?

We will have medics throughout the routes and an ambulance on standby, but for all emergencies, please call 911 first. Notify a volunteer at a rest stop or a security officer if there is one nearby. If not, call 615-928-8801 to get support from event staff. Note that ride support and rest stops end at 2:00 p.m.--please plan accordingly.

How can I train for the Tour de Nash?

Thanks to The Domestiques Cycling Club, we are offering Tour Trainers rides again this year. These rides are designed to help you build up your distance and comfortability in order to ride in the Local Tour (25-mile) or Grand Tour (45-mile) ride.

You can register for Tour Trainer rides here. Rides begin April 13th and will happen weekly leading up to the Tour de Nash. Once you register, a Domestiques Cycling Club member will contact you the Friday before the ride to give you ride start location and time information.

Tour de Nash Trivia

Did you know? The first Tour de Nash was held in 2004 and celebrated some of the city's first bikeways. Which of these was not one of the first bikeways?

A) Davidson Street     B) 16th Avenue

C) 46th Avenue         D) Belmont Boulevard

Answer: 46th Avenue was not one of the original bikeways. Davidson Street, extending from Shelby Park, along with 16th Avenue/Music Row and Belmont Boulevard in Midtown, were among the city's first on-street bike lanes.
