2024 Tour de Nash Recap
TDN Recap Video
On May 18th, Walk Bike Nashville hosted our 20th annual Tour de Nash presented by LDA Engineering. Thanks to all our riders, volunteers, sponsors, and partners, it was a great success!
This year’s tour raised over $42,000 for our mission and welcomed 932 registered riders and countless cicadas on an absolutely beautiful day. Here's a little more about our riders:
- Joshua came the furthest this year, over 1,500 miles, all the way from Jackson, Wyoming.
- Over 16 states and 118 zip codes were represented with Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana bringing over five riders each.
- Jan (mentioned above) was our most experienced rider at 81 years young and the youngest was just two years of age!
- This year, riders spoke six different primary languages: English, Spanish, French, Afrikaans, Cebuano, and Hungarian.
- Perhaps most excitingly, 4 in 10 riders were experiencing TDN for the first time!
Kicking off in the Nations, Tour de Nash featured an Open Street aspect for the first time, providing a car-free start/finish line on 51st Ave. from Tennessee Ave. to Georgia Ave. The Marguerite Beane Quartet provided live music and dozens of sponsors, partners, community members, and businesses hosted booths and activities:

We also had a great turnout from local leadership:
- Thank you Mayor O'Connell and his family for coming out
- Thank you Councilmembers Rollin Horton and Brenda Gadd for hosting us and participating. Councilmembers Sean Parker, Burkely Allen, Jacob Kupin, Jordan Huffman, and Clay Capp also took part in the fun.
And other notable attendees included:
- Founding member David Kleinfelter

- Our local heroes: Jan Richey has been a constant at Tour de Nash. When he took a tumble this year, a trio of strangers transported him to our ambulance. Thanks to our social media followers, we were able to connect the Richey family with the kind individuals that helped him so they could express their gratitude. Jan is recovering well, and we hope to see him at the next TDN! You can read the full story on Instagram.
That's all for now. We hope to see you next year! You can check out our 2024 Tour de Nash photo album on our Facebook we've included a few of our favorites here:
