Welcome Lindsey Ganson to our team as Director of Advocacy and Communications.

Walk Bike Nashville is thrilled to share that Lindsey Ganson has joined our team as Director of Advocacy and Communications. This is Walk Bike Nashville’s first full-time advocacy position and an important step in building our capacity to impact public policy. Lindsey will focus on growing support for planned bike lane projects, monitoring legislative actions, managing our Look4Me advertising campaign and supporting all our communications activities. Lindsey has served for the past three years on our board of directors and has more than a decade of experience in communications strategy, community relations and government affairs. She specializes in leading advocacy campaigns for environmental causes.

Lindsey became passionate about bicycle and pedestrian advocacy after her father was hit by a speeding driver while walking near his home in Brooklyn. The tragic crash and her father’s recovery inspired her to join the staff of Transportation Alternatives in New York City as Safety Campaign Director in 2010. You can ready about her family’s experience and how it shaped her approach to advocacy in this piece she wrote for Transportation Alternatives’ magazine.

Since moving to Nashville in 2014, Lindsey has been working for MP&F Strategic Communications. At MP&F, her clients included the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Metro Nashville Planning Department’s Transportation Demand Management program, Nashville Connector. She also led the multiyear public outreach efforts for nMotion, the 25-year strategic plan of the Nashville Metro Transit Authority and the Regional Transportation Authority of Middle Tennessee.

Before Transportation Alternatives, Lindsey served as chief of staff of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and as a manager of NYC & Company, New York City’s Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys exploring the region’s parks with her husband and son.

Please join us in welcoming Lindsey to the team!
