Hosted by our friends at the Nashville Civic Design Center:

Part of the Plan-to-Play lecture series this Urban Design Forum will focus on urban parks designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects with a presentation by Thomas Woltz.

Description of Lecture:

Thomas Woltz will use Nashville's Centennial Park and three other public landscapes designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW) to illustrate the firm's process which is rooted in ecological and cultural research. Through design, technology and materials, the firm creates uniquely contemporary landscapes connecting communities to the rich and layered past of their cities and urban histories. Alongside Nashville’s Centennial Park, Thomas Woltz will present: the Powell Avenue Steam Plant Park in Birmingham, AL; Memorial Park in Houston, TX; and Hudson Yards Public Square and Gardens in New York.
