Meshach Adams

Outreach Assistant

Meshach (he/him) joined the Walk Bike Nashville team in September 2022. Meshach is a Nashville Native and a Hume Fogg and TSU Grad. He is passionate about making Nashville’s streets safe for all. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee in a housing project with a single mother and sister. The work he will be doing is focused specifically on Dickerson Pike, with outreach and education around pedestrian safety. Meshach also serves on the Traffic and Parking Commission.

David Bavas

Operations Director

David (he/him) joined Walk Bike Nashville in March of 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. David is passionate about the work that Walk Bike Nashville is doing to make our roads and sidewalks more bicycle and pedestrian-friendly. You can find him and his family on the many paths and green spaces in town.

Calah Gipson

Open Streets Coordinator

Calah (they/them) joined Walk Bike Nashville in 2022 as an intern with Families for Safe Streets and returned as the open streets coordinator in September 2023. A native of Memphis, Calah came to Nashville to pursue a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Lipscomb University. Applying their knowledge of empowering individuals and communities to thrive, Calah is helping to organize Open Streets Nashville and is developing ways for more communities to access streets as public spaces.

Meredith Montgomery

Executive Director

Meredith (she/her) joined the Walk Bike Nashville team in November of 2021 after moving to the area from Fairhope, Alabama. There, she published a natural living magazine for 11 years and was intimately involved in local issues of sustainability, connectivity and active transportation. With a passion for working in the community and experience in non-profit management, she is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of others here in Nashville. Outside of work you can find Meredith digging in the dirt, at the soccer fields or recharging in the woods with her family.

Juleesia Santiago-Karim

Education and Engagement Manager

Juleesia (she/her) joined the Walk Bike Nashville team in April 2022 with 8 years of experience in program management, volunteer recruitment, and developing service learning curriculum to educate high school aged students on issues impacting the local and global community and how to be agents of change. She has a degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Social Justice and is currently pursuing her Masters in Social Work. As the Education and Engagement Manager, Juleesia is responsible for working to support the Safe Routes to School National Partnership as well as reducing emissions around focus schools to improve the air quality in and around those communities.

Wesley Smith

Advocacy Manager

Wesley (he/him) joined the Walk Bike Nashville team in July 2022. He is passionate about livable neighborhoods and active transportation. A graduate of Hume-Fogg and the University of Tennessee, Wesley is pursuing a master’s degree in Community Development and Action from Vanderbilt University. His past experience includes public policy research, program development, and academic writing at the intersection of geography and sociology. 

As Advocacy Manager, he leads the organization’s “grasstops” efforts, planning and implementing advocacy campaigns and working with government entities. Interested in our advocacy efforts? Get in touch with Wesley to help make our city more walkable, bikeable, and livable!

Ashleigh Wilson

Engagement Coordinator

Ashleigh (she/her) is a certified League Cycling Instructor through the League of American Bicyclists who first served as our Bike Valet Coordinator in 2018. Since then she has also served as the Education Coordinator and is currently leading engagement along Murfreesboro Pike and in North Nashville. She also organizes community wide classes, walks, and rides.

Aaron Wimsatt

Special Events and Sponsor Relations Manager

Aaron (he/him) joined the Walk Bike Nashville team in June of 2022. He is originally from Owensboro, KY and recently graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Marketing. Aaron will be responsible for planning and executing our larger events, as well as connecting with sponsors both current and prospective.
