Walk/Bike Nashville hosts several special annual events to promote active transportation in Middle Tennessee.
2014 Walk to School Day
Nashville's 2014 Walk to School Day is Friday, October 3rd! Each year Walk/Bike Nashville, Metro Nashville Public Schools, Coordinated School Health, and other Metro departments and local businesses collaborate with educators and parents to host Walk to School Day. Join one of hundreds of dedicated, caring adults in our community working to give our children safe opportunities to be physically active. All schools who register to participate in Walk to School Day by Wednesday, September 17th will receive two (2) Walk to School Day t-shirts for School Coordinators, one (1) Walk to School Day Banner, "I Walked to School Today" stickers for participants, and Walkability/Bikeability Surveys. All schools registered by Friday, September 26th will be included in the 2014 Walk to School Day communications shared by Walk/Bike Nashville.
Walk Nashville Month
Walk Nashville Month is Music City’s premier community wide celebration of active living.
This month is packed with fun opportunities for to get out and walk with fellow Nashvillians, featuring events like the Walk for Active Aging, walks with the Mayor, and Walk to School Day- one of the country's largest events of its kind.
Nashville Bike Month
Nashville Bike Month is four solid weeks of Bike Fun in May. Walk/Bike Nashville and a host of local cycling clubs, shops, and organizations come together to pack the Bike Month calendar with fun events. Bike Month exists to shine a light on how much is happening in the cycling scene in Nashville, with the goal of encouraging Nashvillians to get on their bikes and ride.
Tour de Nash
The Tour de Nash is Nashville’s largest tour of bikeways and greenways. The Tour highlights safe, convenient bike routes through Nashville, encouraging residents to use active transportation to get to work, go out on the town, or just enjoy a great ride.
